Each level of the Hathaway Scholarship funding is achieved through different requirements.
Honors Level Requirements
To earn the Honors level of the Hathaway Scholarship, which awards $1,680 per semester, students must have:
- GED – 170
- TASC – 600
- HiSET – 16
- ACT Score – 25
Performance Level Requirements
To earn the Performance level of the Hathaway Scholarship, which awards $1,260 per semester, students must have:
- GED – 164
- TASC – 570
- HiSET – 14
- ACT Score – 21
Opportunity Level Requirements
To earn the Opportunity level of the Hathaway Scholarship, which awards $840 per semester, students must have:
- GED – 157
- TASC – 530
- HiSET – 12
- ACT Score – 19
Provisional Opportunity Level Requirements
To earn the Provisional Opportunity level of the Hathaway Scholarship, which awards $840 per semester, students must have:
- GED – 157
- TASC – 530
- HiSET -12
- ACT Score – 17 OR WorkKeys – 12
- Must be initially used at a Wyoming Community College. Upon completion of a degree or certificate, students may extend the scholarship.
*Provisional Opportunity students who earn an associate’s degree can extend their scholarship for an additional 4 full-time semesters at the University of Wyoming.
Please Note:
- Students cannot initiate the Hathaway Scholarship prior to student’s natural graduation date unless it has been court ordered to complete an HSEC, the student has been emancipated, is a parent or guardian of a minor, or for other good cause shown as determined by the department.
- Students must initiate the Hathaway Scholarship within 4 years of their natural graduation date.
- The student must have received the HSEC while residing in Wyoming and attended a Wyoming high school.
